My computer was wiped out today. All of my icons are gone and everything in the start up menu. I tried starting in safe mode and doing a system restore and can't. I tried to down load spybot and get an error. I was able to run hijack this but don't know what to remove.
The error I am getting is "failed to save components for the file\\system 32. I keep getting critical error, a scan runs over and over. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you picked up some sort of variant of Windows Recovery FakeAV.
