Fails Post

I have a 1247 presario,& all i get is a AC led. No Post at all,any help would be great.

 

When you power on, do you get beep codes?
Do fans come on at all? Or is it completely dead?


You HAVE to provide info, my friend. Don't be afraid to go overboard, even. Just telling us that its broken isn't enough.

I turn on the PC and no beeps,or fan.I JUST GET A AC led on the front of the notebook.

 

I checked the output from the ac pwr supply and its output is within spec.I held down the pwr button with the battery removed for one minute,and no go.

 

If you can remove the RAM and then try a reboot and see if it POSTs then.

Thers is only the internal ram,nothing when you open the memmory cover. I don't see any visable chips.

 

Hmm Ok does the mobo manual give any clues as to where the RAM is located?

 

I went to compaq's web site,they had disassembly manual. I beleive its a chip on the mother brd. I'm not really shure.

 

Well usually when a PC fails to boot or even POST it is either the power supply (which you say you have checked) the graphics card or the mobo itself. 'Bout all I can offer at present I'm afraid.

Try changeing the psu anyway cause that could be it. It may be fine, just not supplying enough power from the beginning!
