I have been hit with this fake Microsoft Security Essentials Alert combination virus 3 times in the past, and on the 4th, i decided i had done enough reformatting for one month... And so we did battle....

Through safe mode and beyond, the Virus had almost done me in, i was about to give up and reformat, and decided that since i was shutting down, i would try the idea i knew wouldn't work.

Since the virus prevented the opening of most programs and any/all internet connections and even the task manager, my main goal for the previous 2 hours was to gain any control at all... (the damn thing even disabled my normal port keyboard/mouse)

So... I open up a notepad... I copy and paste the name from the "anti-malware doctor" fake program icon which is still on my desktop....

Then i use my usb mouse to log off...

All programs close... or do they...

I hit cancel when it asked what save changes i wanted to make. All other programs remained closed (including the 3 or 4 viruses preventing me from doing anything), and the windows shutdown process was successfully interrupted.

Mozilla was still compromised but good old internet explorer allowed me to screen keyboard "malwarebytes" and after several back and fourths with a redirect virus i was able to get to the site, download, install and run it... it removed a bunch of crap, mainly, those retarded viruses designed to destroy the task manager and everything else...

Simply open a note pad, make a change, log off or shut down, and when it prompts you simply hit cancel, this will close the viral programs and allow you to regain some control

I have hit this sort of virus many times and this simple fix could have saved me so much grief.

Sometimes i have even had to rename the install file and the launch file of anti malwarebytes...

The only two problems which i know of that remain are A, this redirect virus, which just bugs me on principle, and the fact "antimalware doctor" remains installed on my computer, though doesn't seem to pose any threat at the moment as it is not active

I don't know much about computers, but i'm good at mcguivering tricks out of things...

Hopefully this will save someone a headache...

If anyone knows the best way to get rid of these current problems, help is much appreciated
