    I think my computer may be sending info to external bad websites or they may be accessing my computer.

    I completed the READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide process and attached the logs.

    For tdsskiller, I received the message "can't initialize log" and, after that, "no threats found". There was no tdsskiller log to attach.

    Please let me know what you think.

    Background:

    A few days ago, my son downloaded what he thought was a Minecraft mod. Well, it wasn't. On running Spybot Search and Destroy, it found and deleted Conduit.SearchProject, PCUtilities.OptimizerPro, PornoAssist, and win32.Downloader.gen. I then noticed a new "user" folder on my desktop. I ran ShareWatch on the folder. Originally, it was blocked. I just ran ShareWatch on the "user" folder and it shows ADMIN$ (Remote Admin), C$ (Default Share), print$ (Printer Drivers), Users, and IPC$ (Remote IPC) folders, all properties of which show "Users Allowed: Unlimited". A run of Netstat while connected to the internet shows about 50 foreign addresses and a run of Netstat while physically not connected to the internet shows 5 Foreign Addresses. The number one position Norton Firewall Traffic Rules has precedent over all other rules. The first Norton Firewall Traffic Rules reads "Default Allow Specific Inbound ICMP: Allow, Direction: Inbound, Computer, Any, Communications: Specific, Protocol: ICMPand it cannot be removed or moved.

    Not seeing alot to do at all.

    Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Re run Hitman again and attach log.

    The REGEDIT4 keys and values were successfully added to the registry.

    I reran HitmanPro and attached the log.

    Whatever happened to my computer seems to have affected my Windows Task Manager. There are no tabs (including there is no processes tab. The task manager window that opens up lacks any way to close it (e.g., there is no x button to close the window). Is there something that can be done to fix my Windows Task Manager?

    How comfortable are you in the Windows Registry? These did not get deleted. Are you able to do it?

    • HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\AppDataLow\{1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F}
    • HKU\S-1-5-18\Software\AppDataLow\{1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F}
    • HKU\S-1-5-19\Software\AppDataLow\{1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F}
    • HKU\S-1-5-20\Software\AppDataLow\{1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F}
    • HKU\S-1-5-21-2695133797-1182268270-630223487-1001\Software\Conduit

    If so then rerun Hitman afterwards so I can see if they are gone or not. I'll try and help you with your other issues next...

    2. I did not see {1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F} at {1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F} so I did not delete it.
    3. I found and deleted HKU\S-1-5-19\Software\AppDataLow\{1146AC44-2F03-4431-B4FD-889BC837521F} and its subfolder _70e6ca8c

    OK that's good. So are your only remaining issues non malware?

    If everything looks good to you then the other issues I mentioned may be non malware.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
