Hello and thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
I downloaded "1 click you tube downloader" (through mozilla add ons) after that I went to a streaming site I use regularly with no issue.
When I clicked the link to stream the movie I got a "Plug in out of date, please update" box. I clicked on it and it went to what appeared to be a Mozilla update page. I downloaded the update and ran the .exe
I suddenly had tons of pop ups and issues. Ran Malware bites ad it removed many listed as Conduit and/or Outbrowse pup trojans.

Still getting the same fake update message. THis time I ran MAB on the .exe file and it shows the trojan: "pup.optional.outbrowse" (file & regkey)
Went through the whole Browser and Malware cleaning procedures and still get the same false update request. I'm using Mozilla v 28 on a pc.
    Wix XP Sp3

    See attached logs.

Appreciate any help anyone can offer as I believe the trojan keeps coming back after cleaning.

You forgot to attach the logs from Malwarebytes and MGtools! However let's do the below instead right now.

Please download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines from the below codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C
(or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy): Do not include the word Code: which is just a title line of
      the code box
    Code:
    :Processes
    explorer.exe

    :Files
    C:\Documents and Settings\Kevin Roberts\Desktop\New Folder\F backup\Program Files\Painter 10\Corel Painter X KeyGen.exe
    :Reg
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{1AA60054-57D9-4F99-9A55-D0FBFBE7ECD3}]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Conduit]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Systweak\RegClean Pro]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Enum\Root\LEGACY_CLTMNGSVC]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet005\Enum\Root\LEGACY_CLTMNGSVC]
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_CLTMNGSVC]
    [-HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1004336348-413027322-682003330-1004\Software\Conduit]
    :Commands
    [purity]
    [EmptyTemp]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar
      ) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MoveIt!.png button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be
saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach
this log file to your next message.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.
Now run a scan with Malwarebytes and Quarantine anything it finds. Save a log to attach below.
The following instructions for GetLogs.bat assumes that you previously had run MGtools.exe as instructed in the READ & RUN ME.
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles log
    • the JRT.TXT log
    • the Malwarebytes log
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Thank you for your rapid reply.

I have done as you instructed. See attached logs.
I double clicked the MGtools .bat file.
Not sure if it took the old one or created a new one?
    Everything else went smoothly.

Let me try the browser and I'll let you know how things are working.
    Appreciate it.

    Hello again,

The logs show a lot of things cleaned which is great.

I loged onto the internet using Mozilla (my default) and tried the
movie streaming site I've used regularly for some time now.

Got the same result, no mater which stream I try, they all say some message about updating the player (which contain Trojans).
At the same time I get a lot of porn cam and game pop ups.

I can post a screen shot of the message if you need to see it.

Appreciate whatever else we can try.

    Best wishes.

You're welcome. I'm going to assume that your problems are all just with Firefox.

Please run the below and then tell me how things are working.

    Reset Firefox to Defaults
