Farcry 2

Farcry came along way back when and I thought really did a good job (for some of the game) with open world environments and their effect on playing the game. For instance, there were multiple ways to play through the same part and if armed with the right weapons you could blast your way through anything or sneak your way through.

I thought that was really cool, the weapons were done well and the environs looked great. I remember it was probably the first game to really nail the way water is supposed to look.

Well, farcry2 is coming along and with some showings at e3 and the stuff I've seen before looks really cool. Open world gameplay in the Africam plains!

Wanted to see if anyone else is into this game...

Far Cry was the BOMB!!!!!!
I still pull it out and play it in between buying new games.
Any game, I play I compare to it and many do not reach that standard.
I have been waiting for the sequel and I hope it is better than Crysis was

I'm also waiting for its release - FarCry is like no other game I've ever played. But, I have a feeling FarCry 2 won't work on this computer :cry .

 

Crysis was, I thought, just like farcry with a supersuit. I feel you pain about not running on my computer. I've been waiting almost 4 years for an upgrade just playing games on low graphics for a while now. This might be the game that makes me change.

It'll be worth it to see the fire shoot across the grass in the Serengeti just like in the videos. They looked hands down mindblowing at times.

 

My computer's pushing 7 years old :-D. I "upgraded" it with a GeForce 6200 and another 512MB of RAM back at the start of last year.

I have a disturbing fascination with seeing stuff go boom :-D (on computers and in movies and TV only, by the way - I'm not one of those pyro freaks). I'm also waiting for Mercenaries 2 :cool.

Very cool :cool I'm almost positive after seeing that that my computer won't run it :-D

 

I think I'm in the same boat actually. I may have to cruise through newegg and buy a few upgrades before I try to run this game. I know I'm not going to get the whole experience if I don't run it on high settings.

 

I'll probably end up waiting until I get a new computer before I get to play it - any more upgrades on this one are probably just a waste of money

 

Has anyone found specs on the game yet?
I looked and didn't see any.
