    Hello All:

I cheaped out and bought an ECS SeForce 6100SM-M mobo for an inexpensive build for a friend. This is my second build and much simpler than the first so I'm quite sure that I have everything connected correctly.

Anyway, everthing (CPU, chassis fans, HDDs and LEDs) start up but the system doesn't recognize the monitor. I tried switching the CMOS jumpers to normal. I also tried another monitor too.

Does anyone have an ideas that I may have overlooked since I'm relatively new to this or do I just have a faulty motherboard? Also, might a separate video card work. Would it be worth it to even try?

    Thanks everyone............Bob in Rochester, Minnesota

It's always worth trying. If a separate video card works, that'll give you an idea of what the problem is. If that doesn't work, a little more information about what else is installed will go a long way towards more detailed help from someone more video-savvy than I am :)

Thanks for your reply. I tried a video card and that didn't work either. Not much else installed..1gb Ram...tried both DIMM banks, modem, 1 hard drive and a DVD burner. What else can you think of that might help someone to help me.

    Thanks again....Bob
