Favorite Video Game console

ok i wanted to see what kind of video game consoles people enjoy whether it be the atari 2600 all the way up to X BOX 360, or even PC.

My personal favorite i'd have to say would be SEGA Genesis.... it has some 3D but it had the vintage touch as well. (not as vintage as a good round of empire strikes back on atari, but well vintage none the less)

The cool thing is even after all these years, the games can still be a good challenge to overcome!

 

I would have to say my NES because thats the only one that had the game that was made from my fav show Airwolf next would be my PC thin my PS2 mini

 

For me it's the Sega Genesis or the Atari 2600 (which I still have and play regularly). Currently in my house the battle is raging between the N64 and the Gamecube.

I'll never get that "Say-Gah" tune out of my head.

 

i grew up with the intellivision and the nes...those would have to be my fav's.

 

The only thing I've ever had was a Coleco!!

I still have my old Amiga 500+ (where the + indicated a whole 1mb of RAM..) Still runs beautifully. Fave game was a fantastic tennis sim called Advantage Tennis. Anyone know it?

i remember the very first time i even saw a sony playstation... I was an instant addict playing twisted metal!!!

 

I have a bias towards the N64 cause it has Zelda: The Ocarina of Time..the old Nintendo is cool because it didn't have to have awesome graphics to have some of the greatest and most classic games...but I'm gonna have to go with the PS2. Can't wait till the PS3, woo!

I also liked the Dreamcast. Just a cool system.

 

NES/SNES/Genesis were all great - soaked up many of my childhood hours, but the games for those systems were primitive enough so that you were always conciously aware that they're only games. Lots of basic game ideas just packaged differently; when the PSX/Saturn came along it really changed things, 3D brought immersion to a whole new level and games like MGS and FFVI left a very big impression on me in terms of how engrossing a game can really be. So definately PSX for me. The following generation of consoles, and the newest generation, seem like just more of the same; it's becoming so expensive to develop games for these consoles that doing something original is a big financial risk (although SEGA and Nintendo continue to be innovative, or at least moreseo than Sony/MS); so I steer towards PC gaming, particularly because of mod communities, my FPS preference, and being able to play online with others long before dreamcast/xbox/ps2 were online. Download distribution (ala Valve/Steam) is a big plus - more money to the developers and no longer have to wait for the mail. MMOs are a pretty awesome concept, too. Pc4LiFeYo!

 

xbox 360 because the OS is amazing. I just found a DS lite yesterday though, which is cool

 

something i'm liking right now about nintendo is there variety of hand held systems. Even if you don't have 150 for a DS you can still settle for a GBA for like 70 and still be able to purchase games for it. I'm really lovin the support offered

 

LOL I still have my old 500+ too cost £299 back then ,I also still have my spectrum 128k a full 128k of memory,£140 new if memory serves

I think my spectrum was my favourits as it was the first,well after the BINGO the tennis game with two knobs for controllers
