Favorites list icons

when i first add a link to my favorites list, there is usuall an icon associated with the link. i.e. when i first put major geeks on my favorites there was a little green icon next to the link in the favorites menu. Now, there is just a blue e. It changed to a stardad blue icon after a few days. This is the case with all of the links. How do you keep the original icons from disappearing.

i downloaded tweak ui, but i couldn't fix the problem. In Tweak UI there is a tab called repair. In this tab it allows you to repair icons, but when i clicked it nothing noticable happend. I searched the help section and nothing really addressed the issue. This problem has happend on every computer i've ever owned and on every os since win 98. Now i'm using xp pro, and the problem is still there.

When i first add a link to my favorites list a cool icon appears next to it's name for a while. Then it changes to a blue e with IE and with firefox it changes to just a folded blank page. Some links have the original icon such as slashdot, google, yahoo, cbssportsline etc...

This has annoyed me for a long time. thanks for the tweakui suggestion. I was able to tweak a few other things that have been a nuisance, but unfortantly the icon problem remains.
