My old boss came to me about this... I was not exactly sure what he was talking about at first and thought it might be an easy fix. Also, reviewing most of the postings thus far, seems like most of you can still access your desktop and get some(things) done.
Well... this is not the case on this netbook (Acer / Win7 32bit). There are (4) drives showing {C / D / E / X} and it seems that X is now the main drive in boot up. I have tried to access a thumbdrive with a preliminary diagnostic program on it but can not even locate or figure out how to locate the thumbdrive.
I have tried various system restores/repairs and no luck. I tried to get in through Safe Mode and it loads but then quickly shutsdown and reboots.
Then if I just allow it to load up into windows, it jumps to a white screen and does not allow any form of accessing the drive(s) or programs.
Thought of pulling the HDD and tap it through a USB patch but this netbook does not have an easy access panel for HDD removal.
    Any suggestions?

I am not sure what files are on this netbook, but knowing my boss they probably aren't important -- has anyone resolved this by reinstalling the system?
