FBI Moneypak Virus

    I'm having an especially tricky time with the FBI Moneypak virus that seems to be going around. It has locked me out of safemode. I've been able to get rkill to run in normal mode. It appears to find and kill the virus but the computer still locks out after rkill runs.

    I've tried using the recovery console to allow entry into Safemode but that is not working either. I've read the other threads on the Moneypak virus but I can't get far enough before being locked out.

    I do have access to a 2nd computer to download and burn files onto a CD to run on the infected machine but the amount of time it takes to load and run them takes longer than the lockout to start.

    EDIT: I should also add that I am running windows XP, (SP2 I think).

    With that done should I proceed w/ the standard "READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide" proceedure?

    Assuming that allows you to run things, yes it would be a good idea to run the READ & RUN ME FIRST to make sure you are clean.
