    You guys have helped me before, so I'm familiar with the processes. But I got the FBI Screen, which freaked me out as I asked myself if I (still) had any illegally obtained music, media, etc. Anyway, no safe mode will let me get to my desk top. I'm running Windows 7 x64. Any help even getting to my desktop in order to run the tools you guys need would be appreciated.

    Managed to get around it. Below are the required logs. I included to MB logs because the 1st one helped me regain access. The 2nd one was after an update. I'll do another post with the MGlogs zip

    You can re run HitmanPro and have it delete all under the headings:

    • Potential Unwanted Programs
    • Malware

    leave the rest alone.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][Rans.Gendarm] HKCU\[...]\Run : DP (C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe) -> FOUND
    • [RUN][Rans.Gendarm] HKUS\S-1-5-21-3105082070-2923930377-3165324601-1000[...]\Run : DP (C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe) -> FOUND
    • [RUN][Rans.Gendarm] HKLM\[...]\Policies\Explorer\\Run : DP (C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe) -> FOUND
    • [RUN][Rans.Gendarm] HKLM\[...]\Wow6432Node\Policies\Explorer\\Run : DP (C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe) -> FOUND
    • [HJ INPROC][ZeroAccess] HKCR\[...]\InprocServer32 : (C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-3105082070-2923930377-3165324601-1000\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\n.) -> FOUND

    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.

    ...and the same for items on the Files/Folder tab

    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] Desktop.ini : C:\windows\Assembly\GAC_32\Desktop.ini --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] Desktop.ini : C:\windows\Assembly\GAC_64\Desktop.ini --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] @ : C:\$recycle.bin\S-1-5-18\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\@ --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] @ : C:\$recycle.bin\S-1-5-21-3105082070-2923930377-3165324601-1000\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\@ --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] U : C:\$recycle.bin\S-1-5-18\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\U --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] U : C:\$recycle.bin\S-1-5-21-3105082070-2923930377-3165324601-1000\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\U --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] L : C:\$recycle.bin\S-1-5-18\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\L --> FOUND
    • [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] L : C:\$recycle.bin\S-1-5-21-3105082070-2923930377-3165324601-1000\$b2f8cdca8c29e87966409615291a5ec2\L --> FOUND

    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Reboot the machine.

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    • O2 - BHO: RivalGaming Games - {26D675AC-D925-4bbf-A720-62C2AA4A81EB} - C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\AppData\Local\RivalGaming\RivalGaming.dll (file missing)
    • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DP] C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe
    • O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [DP] C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Re run RogueKiller - just a scan - and attach that log too please.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now!

    Sorry for the delay. Things weren't working for me. Had to rerun the getlogs.bat a few times. Not sure why.

    Download and run OTM.

    Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :Files
    C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\0.7877044499329384.exe

    :reg
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Wow6432Node\microsoft\windows\currentVersion\Run]
    "DP"=-

    :Commands
    [emptytemp]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it in your next reply.

    NOTE: If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and attach the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    OTM won't completely go through the processes. I left it on for almost an entire day. The Green box showed the following

    All processes killed

    ========== REGISTRY ==========

    At which point it would sit for hours and hours. When force closing and then reopening, the log says

    Files moved on Reboot...
    File move failed. C:\Users\Brandon M Brown\AppData\Local\Temp\FXSAPIDebugLogFile.txt scheduled to be moved on reboot.

    Registry entries deleted on Reboot...

    I ran it 4 times, each time after a reboot.

    Good afternoon. :)

    How are things running now?

    Hi there.

    Thank you for asking. So I'm discovering that several key functions have been disabled by whatever it was that has invaded my system. My firewall and windows update are both disabled. While trying to do updates on some software, such as DirectX, etc, I get an error message when those installations try to write into a Windows folder. I'll try to make it happen so I can post a screenshot. And I can't get System Mechanic to start up again.

    All that to say that this trojan did a much bigger number on my system than I realized. I don't really want to have to do a clean install, but whatever you suggest.

    Performance-wise, it runs fine. :)

    Well let's see if we can't fix that.

    Download Windows Repair by Tweaking.com and unzip the contents into a newly created folder on your desktop.
    • Now run Repair_Windows.exe by double clicking on it ( if you are running Vista or Win 7, use right click and select Run As Administrator)
    • Now select the Start Repairs tab.
    • The click the Start button.
    • Create a System Restore point if prompted.
    • On the next screen, click the Unselect All button to first deselect all repairs.
    • Now select the following repair options:
      • Reset Registry Permissions
      • Reset File Permissions
      • Register System Files
      • Repair WMI
      • Repair Windows Firewall
      • Remove Policies Set By Infections
      • Repair Winsock & DNS Cache
      • Repair Proxy Settings
      • Repair Windows Updates
      • Set Windows Services To Default Startup
    • Now on the lower right side check the box to Restart/Shutdown System When Finished
    • Then make sure the Restart System radio button is enabled.
    • Shutdown any other programs that you are running now before continuing.
    • Now click the Start button.
    • Be patient while the tool repairs the selected items.
    • It should reboot automatically when finished.

    After reboot, check to see if your firewall is working.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista or Windows7) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.
