FDM for dial up user

Would it be possible, for me to download FDM (Free Download Manager) with my Windows XP and burn it to a CD then install onto my neighbor's Windows Vista?

She would like to pick up the wmv's her kids sends her, and I told her how great this worked for me... She gets a much slower connection than I do, so I thought this might be possible, but thought I'd ask first.. What do ya think?

I am concerned about conflicts, by downloading with XP an d then installing onto Vista...

Thanks Halo, I'll get right on it.. She only lives 2 doors down from me, but gets a lousy connection rolleyes.I just thought I'd help her out. Thanks you!

As your friend is on DUN and has bad connection, while there is no magic speedup of DUN, you could try tweaking it a little and this free app can do this with default settings and if one of the presets doesnt work you can always set it back to defualt

Dont know what the phone lines are like in your area, but likely they are old and not new lines but you could check with the phone company and see if they can adjust the line gain a little, but depends on how far from exchange you are.

Thanks Halo, I'll send her the link... I am also on a DUN, but my lines were all replaced last fall, and buried, and I have been getting real good connections, but she is only 2 doors down, and barely gets a connection.... How far we are from the exchange is a very good question... :confused

I'll see what we can do with it!
