    Hi Everyone

I am currently working my way through James Patterson's books, love em, however coming to the end. So looking for any recommendations!

Other books I have enjoyed are all the ones by Ben Elton (funny / satirical).

JR Ward's BlackDagger series, they are adult books about vampires (yeah I know, vampires, I thought I'd never ever read about them, but I read the first one and wham I was hooked, they are sooooo good and I quickly read everyone. They are very well written. I have since tried other books about vampires and they dont cut the mustard. So perhaps her books are a one off.

So basically I am open-minded, I like thrillers, intrigue, drama and suspense. No sci-fi or books that are too difficult to understand the plot. Or drivelly romance novels unless there are good plots or something outstanding about them.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance :)

Honestly, if you like the books with James Patterson's name on them, try the ones written by his co-authors without him. They do most of the writing now, and are at least as good without his name on the cover, often better. ;)

Otherwise, I really enjoy Carl Hiaasen (satirical humour with underlying social commentary), Christopher Moore (completely unbelievable, very funny irreverent books), John Grisham (legal drama), and John Sandford's Prey series (police/murder mystery - he has others, but I've not read them yet), David Baldacci (government/legal drama), and Iris Johansen's series featuring Eve Duncan and the related novels with some of the same characters (murder mystery with a bit of romance).

I could go on for pages...I read like a fiend, usually a book every 1-3 days. :-D

I read the JR Ward books, a good series...at least the first six of seven for me, anyway.

If you like them, you should try Gena Showalter's seies: Lords of the Underworld. They are good...entertaining. The same sort of idea.

Nalini Singh's Psy-Changling series is good as well.

Game or Thrones is good, and the Dresden file shave already been mentioned. And if you liked The Black Dagger books you might want to try Ward's other series, The Fallen Angels. It takes place in the same setting and time line, there is even some character cross-over. I liked the fallen angels better.

Steve Berry's books are good, in particular the Cotton Malone series. In fact, I need to find out if there's a new one.

Just throwing this out there, if you like spy type novels look into Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series. One of my all time favorites.
Game of Thrones is good, still on the second book though. LOL

Hiya, does that mean that it is a difficult book to understand or you're not that keen.

When I started on the James Patterson 'Alex Cross' series, I read the lot in a couple of weeks, I was so into them, doh! :-D
