Attempts to remove Vitumonde and other threats are failing. Have followed your procedures for cleaning the machine, including the special procedures for removing Virtumonde - logs are attached. Note that after running MGTools, exploring MyComputer invokes an installation for Easy CD and DVD Creator 6, which can't be cancelled. This hasn't appeared before. Also, the Vundo Fix seemed to work, but after the reboot it found another two files again - these just keep coming back regardless of running Vundo Fix

The Vundo Fix and HJT logs. The second HJT log was done after following all the procedures including MGTools

    Thanks

HJT is embedded in the MGTools --> there is no need to attach it seperately.

ComboFix may have removed some legit files:
    C:\Program Files\CyberLink DVD Solution\PowerDVD\PDVDServ.exe
    C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 6\AudioCentral\RxMon.exe
    C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 6\DragToDisc\DrgToDsc.exe

So you may have to reinstall that software.

Now we need to use a new tool.

    * Download and save to RenV.exe from following link to Desktop (
    must be on the Desktop)
    * Now Copy the bold text in the below code box to notepad. Save it as Log.txt to your desktop. (It must be on your Desktop).

    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\GIW~1 .EXE
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\giw .exe
    C:\Norman\Bin\ZLH .EXE
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl .exe
    C:\Program Files\Ahead\InCD\InCD .exe
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Acronis Disk Director\oss_reinstall .exe
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\giw .exe
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\giw .exe
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\System\EngUtil .exe
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\ScanSoft Shared\SSBkgdUpdate\SSBkgdupdate .exe
    C:\Program Files\CyberLink DVD Solution\PowerDVD\PDVDServ .exe
    C:\Program Files\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\GoogleToolbarNotifier .exe
    C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\avgas .exe
    C:\Program Files\InternetAnonymizer\traymodule .exe
    C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper .exe
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\jusched .exe
    C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\MsnMsgr .Exe
    C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 6\LaunchApplication .exe
    C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 6\AudioCentral\RxMon .exe
    C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 6\DragToDisc\DrgToDsc .exe
    C:\Program Files\ScanSoft\OmniPageSE4.0\OpwareSE4 .exe
    C:\Program Files\V-Stream Multimedia\DVB Plus\DTVR\Scheduled .exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon .exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd .exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray .exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck .exe

    * Now using your mouse, drag Log.txt onto RenV.exe
    * When finished, RenV.exe will produce a new log names Log.txt on your Desktop I will ask for this log later.

Open notepad and copy and paste the following text in the quote box into the window:
    Save this as fix.bat
Choose to save as all files.
Doubleclick fix.bat and let the program run.
A small black dos window will flash, this is normal.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    * Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

    * Now click the 'Done' button.
    * Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    * You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger and RenV.

Be sure to tell us how things are running.

Thankyou for your assistance. Your procedures have been carried out and the requested log files are attached - I can't see the MGTools zip file even though I uploaded it. I presume it has overwritten the one uploaded at the start of this thread. Let me know if this is not the case. Otherwise things seem to be OK at this point.

    Thanks

You still have some infections ...and no the MGLogs.zip did not get attached.

Copy the bold text in the below code box to notepad. Save it as Log.txt to your desktop. (It must be on your Desktop).
    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\giw .exe

    * Now using your mouse, drag Log.txt onto RenV.exe
    * When finished, RenV.exe will produce a new log names Log.txt on your Desktop I will ask for this log later.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and the RenV log.

One nasty is being pesky ....
    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
o If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:

    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\giw .exe

Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * Use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * Attach this log to your next reply.

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

It is still showing in the log ....please see if this still exists and delete it --> pay close attention to the date/size and the spaces between the file name and the .exe!!
    Code:
    160,645 2008-02-01 02:03:40 C:\Program Files\Common Files\InternetAnonymizer\giw .exe

    Tell me what you find.

I was unable to remove the file giw .exe - it says it is in use. I went to add and remove programs and removed Internet Anonymizer, however giw .exe and the program directory were not removed. giw.exe (without the space) also existed in that directory and also was not removed. I haven't rebooted the machine yet though.

    Thanks
