Anyone know of any particularly good password protection apps to keep files and folders with sensitive info away from the casual snooper??

You could create an encrypted volume using truecrypt?
when unlocked it will act like a regular drive on your PC.

It will also run as a portable app on your pen drive to protect any stored info if you ever misplace it

Not a password protection application as implied, but have used in the past with desired results. Took a bit of setting up the first time around, but worked well.

Versions available for Windows, Mac, and Linux...
May want to just keep said files on an easily "removable" external source.
