File Recovery from restored hard drive

    Was wondering if anyone knew after full reinstall of windows is there anyway to recover files from hard disk? And if so what is best program. Thanksconfused

    You won't have much luck if the reinstall of the O/S went onto the same partition as the files you seek. Did it?

    If all you did was install Windows, some of the files have been over-written; but some probably have not. Easy Recovery Pro (not free, but great) will recover data from formatted hard drives easily. PC Inspector (free, but slow and not really the easiest to use program on the planet) will do it also.... here's the link to PC Inspector: http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm Do a Google search for Easy Recovery Pro; I think that OnTrack software publishes it....

    There is a slim chance if you try something like lynix live cd, to look into your hard drive. You run it from CD, and it can look into your drive - it's a free download, or, small fee for CD.
