file server

    who knows how to start one? I have a P3 450mhz Dell with 256mb of ram running windows 2000 adv server. i want to have it used for a small file server online and on my network. so my friends or all you at outcast or tech station can upload images to it and post them or anything like that. nohting big because my internet but i just need a little help doing this...anyone know?

    file sharing on a network is entirely different from sharing online... apples and oranges. If your server is up and running on your network and all the workstations can see it, you just need to share whatever file you want shared, (rightclick the file, properties, sharing). Online, I'm not too versed in, but you'll need IIS installed at a minimum, look it up on the servers help files...(that's about all I have to give on this subject). Good luck
