File sharing in a Workgroup

    How can i setup file sharing in a workgroup without having to share with everyone? Can this only be done in a client/server enviroment? If so can any one assist or send some links? Thanks

    Sorry about that. They are XP machines. A mix of PRO and Home versions but mostly PRO.

    Create a user for each person connecting and where you share the folder.
    In explorer (or any folder) click tools > folder options > then the view tab.
    All the way at the bottom turn off simple file sharing. Then when you share a folder you can add permissions for specific users
