I was wondering if someone would tell me how to direct share over the internet, you see my problem lies within the fact that I really don't want to spend any money on an ethernet card for one of my computers so that i can share that way with a crossover....I have cable modem; one computer is on ethernet and the other is on usb... i've tried just burning information to cds but that is too much effort to share my home movies and and other eroneous files.... i've also used aim to send stuff. But what i really want to do is just be able to drop a file into a folder and have it upload on this computer and download to the other...and I really don't like the idea of using kazaa or any of those kind of tools...Can someone help me please...

you could run your own ftp server. search for a freeware ftp server software.

honestly network cards are 5 dollars now. dont eat lunch and buy a network card.

Oh well...I do have my one computer and my two other roomies computers attached to a network...but I just wondering since I know both my computers ip address', if I could just be able to share a folder with the ability to only to take and add from it. Ah, but this sounds surreal anyway so I guess there is no point in seeking this out further....thanx for the help guys...Oh yeah. The ftp server thing doesn't really work for me. Maybe I am just too novice.
