    Yoo people,

Are there any such programs out there that will split files for storage onto CD. I have a media file to big to burn even after zipping to fit onto a CD so need to split and then obviously rejoin at a later time. Is there something that will do that.

    Thanks

try WinRAR. its an archiving porgram (zip, rar, and so on)

when you make the .rar files, you can split them up and specify the size, and joining them is very simple.

    Thanks Guys,

I downloaded file splitter and I've got winrar but didn't know it had splitting capabilities. I give it a go. :)

Also this app is useful for this kind of purpose :

It's called Chainsaw and can split files to user-defined sizes. It generates a little batch file for putting them back together. I have used it in the past and found it simple and effective.

Plus, on the side, when you drag a file on to be split up it makes a nice chainsaw cutting noise... simple things ;)

Worth a look if your files are very large - I seem to recall reading that this doesn't struggle with files 2Gigs+

    Cheers
