Hahaha, I just posted my thoughts on that elsewhere. Man, 2011 seems so far away. At least I hope they keep up the same standards as in the trilogy. I never really liked 'The Hobbit' book but this should be nevertheless interesting.:) I'm sure this will be better than anything else out there.

    TWO hobbit films???

There was only 1 film per LOTR book, and IIRC, those books were MUCH bigger than the hobbit, so where's this second film coming from???

I would assume they will split the book into two movies in order to make the best quality films they can make. I'm all for it.

Although rumor is that he wants to tell some of the story of the time between Hobbit and LotR, so maybe that will be #2.

Ya Mada, a good question, perhaps The Silmarillion, I really have no idea after reading a couple of stories on this. The Hobbit was/is a 358 page book though not with the obvious breaks that LOTR had.

EDIT: Apparently they will just split it in two. That's what my movie friend tells me, basically his best guess for now, he goes to all the festivals and writes reviews etc. Ex DJ too if that matters.

I for one am glad that Peter is directing The Hobbit movies. I know I was surprised that there will be two, but I'm not going to care. I know it'll have the same feel as LOTR. Yay!

    From the news:

Jackson, who directed the "Rings" trilogy, will serve as executive producer for "The Hobbit." A director for the prequel films has yet to be named.

    FYI

Making two movies is good news, it means they won't have to cut out too much.
