Have you run through the step by step malware removal at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 yet? It doesn't look to me like you have read any of the stickies on the Spyware main page (they are the ones labeled to the effect of "READ ME FIRST! Name". The one I have pointed you to is the one for spyware removal. There is also an announcement asking people to not post HJT logs until asked (top of forum). I believe it is also preferable to post the logs in an attachment and not inline (like yours)

As Qwertyman66 said you need to run thru the clean procedure in the sticky. Here is the full boilerplate procedure.

To help us to best help you, please follow the steps below closely and in the order given and do not skip anything. If you have any difficulty, please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything along with details about any problems you may have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better. Don't be afraid to ask for additional help if you don't understand something!

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

By the way, have HJT fix the below O1 - Hosts lines right away.

Did you try running them as mentioned in the sticky thread, in safe mode?

Also you could try ending all other unrecognized processes and make sure you are disconnected from the internet while running (in safe mode).

If you get error messages, provide the exact error message. Word for word.

    hello..
I tried running antivir in safe mode with networking..(though i was connected to the internet.. i.e. cable modem plugged in n all..)
it scanned for half a min..and was scanning in c:\documents and settings\...\application\cache then it said hardware error or something like hard error..then i restarted the comp and my harddisk wont be recognized infact nothing will be..so i had to shut the comp down for 2-3mins and then its back to normal..
I recently updated bios drivers and chipset..could dat be causing a problem?
Also im pretty sure i heard a 'tak tak' noise from the harddisk or something from the comp before it hung..

I did an online virus scan from symantec and nothing was found..except 5 files..which were due to DAP..

What could be causing the computer crashing when running anti-virus..?

Thanks for the help :D and sorry if im being a pain :p
