I have a large pic file my wife tried to send someone that can't ever finish "sending" and of course, ties up outlook express till it goes "not responding"

I forget where/how to find my email on C so's to just delete the file before restarting outlook express. I did this several years ago but can't remember how...

    anyone?

    regards,m

Why not delete it from outbox?
If OE starts to send the moment you run it, just cancel.
    Cheers...

I would do as sikvik suggested. If, for some reason, you can't get that to work and you still want to locate your OE folders, go to Tools, Options, Maintenance, and click on Store Folder. This will display the Store Location. You can highlight the location shown there and copy it to the clipboard. Then, open a Windows Explorer window and paste the Store Location into address box.

When you see you your OE folders, you can find and delete Outbox.dbx. OE will create a new one the next time it's opened. Since you can not open separate OE .dbx folders and select individual files/messages for deletion, you will need to delete Outbox.dbx. Of course, any other messages in Outbox.dbx will also be deleted.

Recall or replace a message you've already sentRecall or replace a message you've already sent

    This feature requires Microsoft Exchange.
You can recall or replace a message only if its recipient is logged on and using Microsoft Outlook and has not read the message or moved it from their Inbox.

    1. If the Folder List is not visible, click the View menu, and then click Folder List.
    2. Click Sent Items.
    3. Open the message you want to recall or replace.
    4. On the Actions menu, click Recall This Message.
    5. Do one of the following: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/../images/bluedrop.gifRecall the message
      1. Click Delete unread copies of this message.
      2. To be notified about the success of the recall or replacement for each recipient, select the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.

      http://forums.majorgeeks.com/../images/blueup.gifReplace the message
      1. Click Delete unread copies and replace with a new message.
      2. Click OK, and then type a new message.
      3. To be notified about the success of the recall or replacement for each recipient, select the Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient check box.
Note To replace a message, you must send a new one. If you do not send the new item, the original message is still recalled.

jewlzs, he would not be using Microsoft Exchange because he/she is not using Outlook. They are using Outlook Express.

Thanks to all for your responses. The problem isn't that OE immediately tries to send the message, its that even when I go to delete it from the outbox, it overclocks(?) and freezes up. There's nothing else in there so I'll try usafveteran's idea....

    I'll report back soon...
