Firefox 3.0.1 Add-on Troubles

    I am having trouble with my Firefox 3.0.1 add-ons. I have AVG Safe Search 8.0 and AVG Security Toolbar 2.0.20080418 on my add-on list with no option to remove them. AVG is no longer on my system.

    I also have FireFTP 0.97.3, Talkback 2.0.0.11, and VideoDownloader 1.1.1 listed, saying they will be uninstalled when Firefox is restarted. However, when Firefox is restarted they are not uninstalled.

    I'm also having trouble installing new add-ons.

    Should I go back to version 2? I'd like to keep my bookmarks or I'd just uninstall and reinstall the whole thing. I also tried starting Firefox in safe mode, to no avail.

    Thanks, I was able to change my profile and not copy over the undesired add-ons.

    Download the latest version of AVG free 8 and pretend you are going to install it but choose the first option "Add or remove components". This should get rid of the two items that were remaining on your computer.
