firefox 3.6 auto login not working

I'm using the latest Firefox ver. 3.6.7 with 'Remember passwords for sites' and
'Use a master password' enabled but FF will not auto login for this site which is
currently the only username/password stored.

This option works fine in Opera.

Anyone know how to get this to work?
Could it be a plugin conflict?
Haven't tried disabling any yet.

I do get a prompt for the master password when I get to the forums page,
but after entering the PW nothing happens. :confused

Just entering the master password is not going to also log you into to some website. That master password just allows Firefox to then use saved passwords to login to websites for which you've saved the password.

I find the easiest way to login to this forum is to click on the Reply button for a post I'm viewing. That opens the browser screen showing both my username and password and I just click the button below them to logon. If, instead, I click the Log In link in the upper right corner of the MG forum window, I have to enter my username and then Firefox displays the password box (with asterisks for password characters) and I click on Login. Actually, I only need to enter the first letter of my username and then Firefox auto-completes my username in that box.

Edit: I'm using Firefox 3.6.6, but it's worked this way for me through numerous versions of Firefox.
