Firefox and "Smiley Xtra" Extension Problem

Hi!

I'm a new user of Firefox. I tried out an extension called Smiley Xtra
http://smile.studio-network.co.uk/index.php . I decided not to go along with it and uninstalled it.

However, the side bar from which you can choose the smileys will not go away. I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, the side bar still will not close, nothing appears in my Add/Remove, I've completed Adaware, Spybot and a search for Smiley Extra in C: , it's not even listed in the sidebar menu found under the "View Tab" at the top of the browser ...... no such luck in getting rid of it.

I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, no change. But now I'm having problems with Firefox browser menu greying out and having to close the browser altogether and using Internet Explorer.

Is there an easy way for me to get rid of it? I'm not that computer knowledgeable, so please be specific if you have any ideas. Thanks for any help!

 

Thanks for your help, but didn't find anything. Nuts. Maybe I'll uninstall Firefox again, and this time go look for any remaining Firefox folder?

Yes, I did remove the extension via the extension menu.

lmao, I don't remember if I closed the Smiley window or not, I'm willing to try what you suggested!

Your suggestion of reinstalling the extension, opening it, closing it, uninstalling it, then restarting Firefox;

1. Has gotten rid of the side bar.
2. Bookmarks have now re-appeared.
3. Browser Menu no longer suddenly greys out.
