Firefox browser-Why does it close unexpectedly?

When doing searches using Firefox browser, it often closes itself when I click on a subject link. There is no particular pattern of closing by any class of search subjects. Example, yesterday I did a search on a very innocent subject "nematodes" using Google. I clicked on a few links and they opened correctly, then another link and it closed the browser. Never any error message. Just closes. Anyone else have that happen and is there any solution?

 

what version of firefox are you using. The most uptodate one is 1.0.6 available here http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Fully uninstall the old firefox before installing new one.

Simular problems to this have been found and reported on the firefox bugs site so they should be fixed in the latest version

 

I had that happen to me when doing a search from hilited text when I had the community version of the googlebar installed. It was a rare event though.
