    Hi everyone

I keep getting this error message:

Component returned failure code: 0x804b0010 (NS_ERROR_OFFLINE)....etc

sorry, cant remember the rest as its not popping up now for some reason

Basically, alot of the time I get this error message in firefox whenever I click on something and I get 2 other error messages that follow after. This is a major nuisance. I will try to get them again and post them. This doesnt happen in internet explorer

    I have windows 7 Professional 32bit
    Mozilla Firefox version 3.6.12

    Thank you

    Greetings, soulhaunter.

You might try runnnig Firefox in Safe Mode (not Windows Safe Mode, but FF with no extensions, add-ons, etc.) - if the problem goes away, then you can selectively enable the plug-ins to find the culprit.

Here is the full loads of error messages:

    First Error message:
    rw_initSocket OutStream: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x804b0010 (NS_ERROR_OFFLINE) [nsISocketTransportService.createTransport]" nsresult: "0x804b0010 (NS_ERROR_OFFLINE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://texthelphighlighter/content/THHighlighter.js :: rw_initSocket :: line 2" data: no]

    Second Error message
rw_initSocket InStream: TypeError: transport is undefined

    Third error message
rw_sendSocketMessage (1) error: TypeError: zya is null

All with javascript as the box title.

I have gone into safe mode but I wouldnt know where to start with finding the actual add on causing the problems. I know that the messages started when I installed that rapport security thing from natwest. I cant find that anywhere in the add ons or anything

When you ran Firefox in safe mode did the errors still occur? If not, as Caliban stated you would need to selectively enable each plug-in/add-on/extension one at a time until the error occurred again. The last plug-in/add-on/extension you enabled before the error occurred would be the offending one.

Another question though, what security software do you have installed, anti-virus, firewall etc.? According to this page from Trusteer(vendors of NatWest's Rapport software), there are quite a number of popular 3rd party security applications that may require some special configurations when using the Rapport software.

Have you tried Caliban's suggestion of trying FF safe mode and/or disabling addons?

Check your addon/extensions to see if you have any that have to do with highlighting text in FF. Something that could refer to this "/texthelphighlighter"

To make sure there's no confusion: they're talking about the safemode version of Firefox, and Not booting the computer to Safe Mode and trying to run Firefox from there. If you look in your Start Menu and navigate to the 'Firefox' link you should find a link below it named 'Firefox (Safe Mode)'.

Alternatively you can open firefox with the command switch. Depending on where you've installed it to, you can open a Run window and enter this:
    "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

I put firefox in safemode but hard to pin point what the problem is because the error message doesnt come up all the time.

I do have texthelphighlighter, do you think that could be the problem?

Sorry for sounding a bit vague and stupid, im supposed to be a 2nd year computer science student haha

Thanks for all your help by the way

Very possible: if you can uninstall it, do so and see if your symptoms change.

Since you're not having the same issues with IE, you might consider uninstalling Firefox, running CCleaner's files and registry routines, and then reinstalling a fresh Firefox.

As Caliban said it most probably is the culprit. It looks like there is a java script error associated with that addon.

You could just disable it and start FF in normal mode and see if your symptoms change. If the symptoms disappear then uninstall that texthelphighlighter addon.

If it is the culprit I think there may be a similar addon called Highlights that may be an alternative highlighting addon available for FF.
