    I am getting spyware or some such in spite of having Firefox installed.

    I have had firefox for some time - maybe over a year and this is the first time I have had unwanted pop-ups in it. I have run spybot several times today and fixed the problems and they keep coming back.

    They all say "Firefox cookie {Firefox default}
    Firefox {default}:website.name

    Where it says website name I have three different sites: 1. Avenue A, Inc (atdmt.com) 2. DoubleClick 3. MediaPlex.

    Please advise

    Thanks

    Using FireFox instead of IE is a good choice; however, doing this will not prevent you from having malware problems.

    Now to directly address what you mentioned! You are talking about Cookies which are not problems and you will always have cookies unless you do not surf. You should read (and do) all what is in the below link and note the info about cookies in step 11.

    Thanks very much. I read your reply some time ago and then I could find my way back here. So apologies for the delay.

    Cheers
