firefox download status bar question

Hi guys
Can you tell Me how to config the paremeters on download status in firefox
I have avira av installed and the status bar linked up to the av but every time i down load something it says paremeters wrong and needs to close

its set to the default %1

 

You might try changing the default from: %1 to "%1
That is some old information though for a work around. Evidently it only happens with Avira.

nope i put the " in front of %1 & then I down loaded a text pad just to see if it works and still it says
invalid parameter this will now close

In the last post, #11, some one seems to have found a solution to the problem.

 

it seems it an avira problem un sorted cause they gave an old avira solution ie premium when in got the up to date desktop avira
i guess i have use the old stead fast method of sanning my files manually

 

I've not come across more up to date info, sorry none so far has been of any help. The only other thing I can think of is to try a download manager such as:

I use Free Download Manager myself. I have it set up to scan any file I download automatically. Although I don't use Avira I believe FDM knows how to work with it as well as many others.

Yep... just checked and Avira is in the list.

I just read one of your thread on avira and they done a sneaky lol
instead of calling it avira antivirus prenium they now are calling it avira desktop
it was the post about the pop if you are interested
I will try the FDM and unistall the down loader from firefox

Knew I'd seen that some where, just couldn't remember where. I wasn't involved in that thread though, my memory wouldn't allow it:confused Hopefully the FDM work around will be a good solution. It integrates well with Firefox. If FDM doesn't want to work then more digging for Avira info will be needed. Maybe some one familiar with Avira will step in to help if needed.
