I don't know when this problem started, but the Firefox download window is always empty, even when downloading, but it always gets saved successfully on my desktop. I've tried reinstalling Firefox but that didn't help. Anyone know what might be causing this?

That Sounds odd, have you tried
    Tools>Options>Privacy>Remember What I've Downloaded

    Yes, it's checked.

The "Show downloads when downloading" is checked, and the location is set to the desktop. The files download successfully, but it doesn't show in the download window (nor the "All files save to" part of the window), and when I try to close FireFox when downloading a file, it doesn't warn me about any downloads that may be going on in the background and just closes, screwing up the download.

    I'm at a complete loss.

Sorry about this bump, but being on the fifth page sucks when the issue is still unresolved =/

    I'm having a similar problem.

    Firefox doesn't download at all.

    I right-click "Save....As" and I get nothing. Nada. Zip.

    No window, no nothing.

Now, this doesn't happen with IE but I hate using IE with a passion.

Check Tools/Options Main tab and look under Downloads. If "Show the Downloads window..." is unchecked, you'll get the download but the window won't show up.

That's not the problem. I notice that it works fine in Safe Mode but not regularly. Also, what does it mean when I click on the Windows Media Player icon and it tells me an internal error has occured?

banzerman make you own post, that way your help doesn't get confused with the original poster.

I have the same problem. I use a Mac with OSX 5.4. I do not know where my profile would be. when i go to Tools>download, i just get the blank download box.

Since this started, I must always sign in to my email and sites at each visit.
