Firefox is acting weird, please help.

First I was having some trouble with my gmail manager, so I installed the updated version from the author's website. It didn't function properly so I tried to uninstall it. Now, under extensions, it says it will uninstall after firefox restarts. I tried to install the gmail notifier and it says it will install after firefox restarts. I've restarted firefox 10 times and they're not changing their status. I've restarted by just Xing it out and by going to File>Exit.

Can someone please help?

Yes Tonglebeak that fixed it. Thank you. I didn't think to look for an updated version since Firefox is supposed to do that by itself. I don't like the new version though, most of my extensions are incompatible and that sucks.

One thing though. Is there any reason why my bookmarks are all gone with this new version?

 

Tools->Extensions->Find Updates

And it's not the new version's fault if your extensions are incompatible. It's the author's fault for not keeping up; don't blame mozilla for fixing security issues that end up breaking extensions, else it'd turn into a non-activex version of IE

 

I'm not blaming Mozilla, I should have worded it differently. I was just saying I didn't like the fact that things were incompatible with other things.

Do you have any idea about the bookmarks? They didn't transfer when I installed the newest FF version. I searched for my old bookmarks file and tried to replace the new one with the old one, and it kept putting the new one back in there. Then all of a sudden, my old one with ALL my bookmarks (probably around a 100 or so) just disappeared. When I tried to open it in the browser thinking I'd have to manually click each link and re-mark it, it just said gave some page with an error message like they didn't exist anymore.
