Most people had just updated to Firefox 4 when FF5 came out. Now, less than two weeks after 5, Firefox 6 is being released and the Alpha of Firefox 7 will be released the same day. Most people think Firefox is shooting themselves in the foot with these hilariously frequent updates. The memory leaks, long a staple of all Firefox versions, are still evident in all versions. No one really seems to have a handle to what exactly FF is trying to prove with these rapid-fire version updates.

Doesn't matter, IE is way faster anyway. :-D

Mozilla will be releasing rapid versions. Take one thing in account and that it that i.e. version 4 which was a major change that that won't happen in subsequent versions as much. Version 5 was actually just an update and also a minor security update. Seems they're following in the footsteps of Google's Chrome. Previously, Firefox's going from 1 to 2 etc were major versions. Now the next updates in Fx as of 4 will be mainly minor updates and some security updates but will get 6, 7 etc instead of 5.0.1 - 5.0.2.

Fx v5 definitely is faster than Fx 4 was on my machine.

Fortunately, Mozilla will run the addons against the new versions for compatibility as they realize that Fx users love Fx mainly due to addons and ease of tweaking. Other browsers are not as flexible as Fx.

Uhhh, what about those who CANNOT run IE on their system?

I found such annoyance from sites that would not accept FF 4 that I backed down to FF 3.16 within my VM XP setup. Ubuntu updated to FF5 and I really have not noticed much of any real difference.
