    Hello.

I've started having a few popups on my laptop that I've never seen before. My default browser is Firefox. They only occur when I have my laptop on and the lid closed...which is strange. The popup always opens 1 Firefox window with 2 tabs. The website that pops up in the first tab is www.formula1.com. The second tab contains the google home page. Also when these popups come around, the windows help program launches.

I've run spybot and adaware and found nothing. I've run AVG free and found nothing. Nothing pops out at me when I run hijack this. I'm normally pretty good about finding and killing spyware and the like, but this one has me pretty stumped.

Here is my system specs from DXDIAG and attached is my Hijack This log file. Thank you for your help...:

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please do no post any inline logs! If you suspect you are having malware problems, you must run our standard cleaning procedures (given below) which are required before posting HijackThis logs. Your HJT log shows nothing of interest accept a potential mising file for a wireless lan service.

    O23 - Service: Aeiwsvc - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\AEIWLSVC.EXE (file missing)

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
