Firefox sometimes crashes when clicking on a non-html file.

Sometimes when I click on a link in Firefox which leads to a non-html file (e.g. executibles, pdf, php, sometimes even image files), it crashes. Happens randomly, but never twice in a row. I tried googling it and I got something about Firefox crashing on download, but I tried both and it didn't work, and also the ones there seem to point to it crashing during/after the downloads, my crashes happen when clicking on the files. Any ideas, anyone?

Addons (It also happened on my XP box, and since then I've downloaded more addons, I won't include those ones though.)

Some AVG thingies
BookmarkDD
ColorfulTabs
IETab
Imageshack Toolbar
PDF Download
Stop Autoplay
Xmarks (previously Foxmarks.)

It also tends to crash in safe mode, so I'm not quite sure it's an addon.

Uninstall it. Run CCleaner and remove all traces of FF. Profiles and all ( save your bookmarks if you need them). Make sure you remove all reg. keys associated with it ( also using CCleaner and make the backup when prompted). Reboot and reinstall. see if it still happens.

Actually, I did do that a while ago... when I switched computers. The profile backup thing was corrupted so I manually reisntalled all my addons and bookmarks (it was Xmarks backup).

uninstall and reinstall your FF or try another version of FF.. restore to default
