I had closed down Firefox then started it up again and all of a sudden its telling me that the default profile is in use to pick a differnet one, so i made a new one...thing is all my links / info is "fresh" so to say, anyway to pull the old stuff back?

Delete the new profile and it should revert back to the old profile, and next time it happens, open the task manager and kill the Firefox.exe process that's showing up and it should reopen normally.

Whenever Firefox does that, close the profile dialog, then enter task manger and end process all instances of firefox.exe that are running.

Open windows explorer and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

NOTE: %USER% is the user account you are deleting the profile from.

Look for a folder with the name of xxxxxxxx.default. Where xxxxxxxx is 8 random characters

Delete any profile that is not .default.

If you do this, the easy way is to do the following:

Click start, run...they enter or copy and paste the following:

    C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

This will take you directly to the issue in question...

    Your welcome!

I've got quite a few more, but will wait when the need arises here! :)

    Wouldn't %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles be better?

If you want to know what variables you can use, open up a command prompt and type SET and press enter. That will list all the environment variables. You'll get a list. You can refer to anything on the list in just about any context by surrounding it with % signs.
