I've tried everything my demented mind can thnk of but to no avail. A coupla days ago Firefox started acting up. I lost my yahoo firefox toolbar and couldn't reload it. Then it wouldn't open or opened with a blank white page. Sometimes won't open at all till I reboot and then takes long time. I uninstalled and deleted any leftovers (2 or 3 times). IE is still working fine. I tried turning firewall off.... no luck. The comp is a Dell 4600 w/XP home. I have run AV(PC-cillin security)and a-squared and ad-aware. I searched on this site for answers and still no luck. I am not that literate with comps and this really bugs me. I really like FF and have been using it for months without probs. Anyone got suggestions. Thanks

No - but you worry the hell out of me because I am a happy user of FireFox - and have not had any probs at all since downloading and updating it on one occasion - and recently updating the Sun Java.
Pending better advice I would be looking for the source of the problem.
Deinstall reboot reinstall but only after a good registry clean etc etc.
    Cheers

Did you install the updates (1.0.1, .2, .3) without uninstalling your original version? That can cause problems, I'd probably backup the bookmarks you've set, then clear FF out of the system (program files, application data, registry) and try a reinstall and see if it works after that. Just a thought, see what happens if you uninstall your extenstions, maybe they are causing the problem. If it fixes the problem, reinstall them one at a time and see which one is causing the problem.

Extension problems are a definite possibility.Try using Firefox safe mode,it disables extensions and themes,if the problems don't persist in safe mode it's almost certainly an extension problem. There should be a shortcut for safe mode in the start menu. Corrupted or conflicting extensions sometimes corrupt the profile, so you might still have to create a new profile, even if a bad extension was the original cause.

An update to the User Agent Switcher extension has been causing the most trouble recently. Uninstalling and re-installing it fixes the problem.
