Firewall For Windows 98

ZoneAlarm firewall is no longer available for this OS so I tried Outpost and that slows down my system. After completely uninstalling Outpost (including deleting all Agnitum and Outpost files from my reg., I just now tried Sygate and my system will not boot up after shutdown reboot for installation. I get "not responding". Is there any other freeware available, or if not, can someone recommend a good one for which there is a fee?

or an older version of ZoneAlarm if the latest version doesnt work properly, it will offer the same bi-directional security support as the latest versions but with out some of the new additions as in Antispyware protection BUT that can be covered by other software as in Ad-Aware anyhow.
