firewall problem

    Hi majorgeek,
    I am experiencing problem regarding my firewall zonealarm free,i can't open any program that i always use everytime i log in like my browser firefox and all my instant messaging program aswell.But when i shutdown zonealarm i can open all of them.
    i already remove and reinstall my firewall and at first it's working fine but today it blocked again all my program,pls tell me what to do.:(

    Hi

    Open ZoneAlarm and goto the Programs Control list and on any of the applications that you need to allow by the firewall right click them and set to Allow or click the X's and change them to ticks.

    But ZA should alert you to a new app wanting internet access and in that popup box you click Allow and Remember Setting.

    Hi Halo
    I am using zonealarm for so many years now and this happen to me just a few days at first i thought it is my server but last night i found out it is my zonealarm
    all my program that i always used is already allowed that is why i am wondering why it is not connecting everytime my firewall is on

    Hi Halo
    I think i was able to solve my problem,i look into the zone alarm alert log and notice that it is blocking the generic host of microsoft and what i did is add this to the trusted zone and what do u know it allowed all my program as soon as i did that!!thank god!!
    I want to thank u for the advise if not for that i will not try to see other option inside zone alarm

    Ahh ok, great, glad your able to now use your applications, sadly Firewalls are powerfull tools that can stop many other applicatiosn working if you block or the wrong app is blocked.
