And quite a fine piece of software it is too. Works fine with Bullguard and a lot of other security programs. :cool

    I have a bit of a problem........

    After uninstalling ZA and AVG, I ran the following clean up programs before installing BullGuard;

    CCleaner
    Wise Disk Cleaner
    Wise Registry Cleaner
    Regseeker

I tried to install BullGuard, but the setup stopped and warned me that it found an installation of Comodo Firewall on my computer.

I uninstalled Comodo a little while ago. Comodo doesn't appear in my Add/Remove. I did a search, and it came up with one entry. I deleted that but I still receive the warning from BullGuard that Comodo is in the computer.

How can I get rid of this Comodo that I can't find, or can I ignore the warning and continue to install BullGuard?

    Buh bye ZoneAlarm and AVG!
Now running the free 2 month trial of "BullGuard" temporarily, until I can get switched over to Cogeco Cable and their own security services.

I have had problems with Sunbelt Personal Firewall with the updates. What are your takes on this software? As of now, I am disappointed in the firewall.

    Any suggestions!!!

You should start you own thread about this.

That way you will get better advice.

One can live with it's GUI and colors, right? :-D Have you figured the firewall out? It is something about permitting certain programs on the firewall's list once and for all. That way you won't get all these annoying popups.

If you have old remains from Norton, Avast or other antivirus/firewalls/etc. they can do this. On Majorgeek's download page you can find some special uninstallers for different security software that you should run. Add/remove programs leave a lot of useless files behind. And they cause errors.

The only one of these that won't ruin your computer sooner or later is CCleaner. The rest should be uninstalled. This is the almost-as-good-as-safe-registry-cleaner-list:

    1. The free online scanner Windows Live OneCare safety scanner
    2. CCleaner

    The end.

Ya know, other than the blinding bright red, I actually don't mind the GUI! lmao
    :-D

I'm still learning and getting the hang of BullGuard (it takes me a while, lol).
    ;)

But so far, I think the Firewall has automatically permitted "good programs" that it's familiar with? Right now there's mainly just FireFox, Internet Explorer, and Outlook Express in my list. I think it has to "learn" as I go, with me accepting or declining? Similar to ZoneAlarm?

Thank you so much! I had wondered about this actually.

    Thank you.
I uninstalled the other cleaning programs, and will be using the 2 you suggested to me.

As for Malware, I now have the following programs after peeking at MG's Suggested Programs List. Am I covered now? I also noticed that every once in a while the computer will run a tad slow, not sure if it's from installing the BullGuard, or one of the Malware scanning/protecting programs? Anyways, all is well.
