    Hi

I have a Dell Dimension 8300, P4, 60 G HD and 512 and am running Win XP Home. I work from home and have a program installed on my computer that allows me to interact with computers at work, basically downloading and uploading work. We deal with patient medical information so confidentiality is an issue. I am currently using the Rogers Yahoo browser which has it's own email and antivirus program and I also have the Zone Alarm free edition. I haven't had any problems or anything but I guess I'm wondering if there is any reason to upgrade to Zone Alarm Pro? For reasons that aren't clear to me (or the tech folks at work) the program we use doesn't like the Win XP firewall. They don't have any requirements that way other than an antivirus program.

Any comments on the Rogers Yahoo product are welcome as well.

    Thanks,
    Janet

It is common for a firewall product to turn off the default XP firewall.....you really don't want two firewalls running.

If Zone Alarm is doing the job for you and you do not need any of the features of the Pro edition....then you're good.

I hope your home system is secure with all of that personal medical information on it.

Just a quick thank you for the feedback. It occurred to me after I posted that the company software is HIPAA-compliant, so there shouldn't be an issue there, and even in terms of my own personal stuff, as Jim pointed out, I haven't had any problems, so I guess I'm good. I guess I was just looking for some reassurance on that.

    Thanks again as always,
    Janet
