So I just installed Windows 7 onto my SSD, which I am using exclusively for my OS. When I first start up the pc, it goes straight to the ASUS Express Gate main menu then continues to initialize BIOS once i exit. Afterwards it trys to boot Windows 7 from the drive but doesnt recognize it right away and says Disk Information. Disk not found or something to that means for about 2 seconds, then continues to boot up windows 7 a couple seconds afterwards. I am pretty sure i my bios configuration is ok, but still a bit clueless due to my inexperience.

Also i have four monitors set up horizontally and was wondering if there was any way to span them in Win7. Along these lines, since i have 2 HD5850s what would be the best way to run four monitors in a (4x1) configuration with Eyefinity. I have it setup in extended mode right now with a 1 2 3 4 monitor configuration where the primary screen is 2.

Thanks and sorry in advance for any newbish like questions, just getting started.:-D

Hello:wave and welcome to Major Geeks.

In reference to your last comment first, the only stupid questions are the ones left unasked. There are also no newbish questions.

Anyway, For the screens just connect two to the first card, two to the second, in the order you want them in (so #1 goes on the first (left) port of the first graphics card etc) then open up Catalyst and select the "multiple monitors" tab (or similar) and change the settings there. Failing that, the same can be done thorugh the Display Settings in Windows.

I am going to leave the SSD question up to someone else as I have no experience with SSDs and ASUS motherboards.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

I have similar setup on that exact mobo and SSDs (although Crucial ones not Intel) best to disable ExpressGate in the BIOS as its a pain in the butt, nice idea but not implemented well as yet for me.

But also make sure the SSD is recognised in the BIOS and set to 1st boot device.

yea after about the third boot, it got on my nerve. The SSD is set to the first priority in the boot sequence but still for about two seconds its not being detected.

and the screen set up in ccc (control center for the ati cards) there is no way to group all four screens together. Just a 2 2x1 configuration setting is available. So i am asking if someone familiar with eyefinity knows if you can span four monitors over two cards? but thanks for the input, i do have all four monitors up, i was just trying to get a very unnecessarily:-D high resolution

on another note, this community has been extremely helpful and great, especially for someone like me who is just getting into this stuff on a more practical level. So it really makes the transition very easy. Thanks again :)
