Until today!!!! Had a second offer from people who have sold and want to move in by 8th July - HELP!!!! So much to do in such little time, it's crazy, we're definitely going if all the surveying goes to plan!!!

I moved no less than 10 times in my military career. I can tell you it doesn't get any easier with each move. You never realize how much stuff you have until you move.

    Good Luck

Oh tell me about it, just looking around from where I'm sitting now, my room is the smallest in the house (excluding downstairs toilet) and there's so much junk in here it's unbelievable!!
PLEASE!!! My fellow geeks, tell me that I should chuck a load of stuff!
If I'm unsure on chucking something I'll post info and a pic of it then the yay do I keep or nay do i chuck hehe!

Moving is a good way of clearing the junk away BUT you have that dilema of would it come in handy one day!!!

Have a good hard think if you will need whatever one day if so keep if not bin ;)

Moving is a pain but, just as said before...it's a good way of getting rid of junk!
I have this rule when I spring clean the house every year, If I haven't used it in 2 years, out it goes. If it's in good condition, I donate it. For the most part I haven't missed anything. Besides, if you kept all that junk and finally the day comes when you say " Gee, I need such and such, good thing I didn't throw it out" You may not be able to find it among all the other junk you saved and you may end up buying a new one! lol

    Good luck to you! :D

Wow, moving! Big change! 8th July, thats just after your exams are finished right? Or is that during your 4 month holiday you get after GCSEs? :D Packing up stuff is great for getting yourself organised, at least. If it were me, I'd run a systematic filter on my stuff, similar to the following SQL statement:

    Code:
SELECT * FROM my_stuff WHERE useful > 1 ORDER BY category DESC

    :D

I'd start chucking it all, you tend to hang on to things, just in case....
I moved in 3 months ago and still have boxes of crap sitting around waiting for me to put them somewhere..lol
what's funny is...I think theres more now than there was when I was moving it, I don't know where some of this stuff came from.
keep the essentials, if in doubt, toss it.(or sell it on ebay..lol)

Good luck on move... I know they can be a pain in the ass, loads of settling in and unpacking, first items on unpack list should be PC, Kettle, Beer ;)

You could always sell your junk on e-bay. There always seems to be a buyer for all sorts of junk there...

The only good thing about moving is you tend to find a bunch of stuff you didn't know you had . . .

Exactly, like an old Sega Saturn with 19 games, how cool is that!!!!!

so cool you should give it to me :p:D

seriously though, whenever we move (we've moved 5 times now) I just go through all my stuff and about 50% ends up getting donated (if it's in a good condition) or thrown away, people have so much junk we seriously don't need :D
