fix registry without windows setup?

Ok, so I've tried both recovery console and windows setup to fix my registry, but both methods are prevented by a "REGISTRY_ERROR" BSOD. It happens before I should be prompted for an administrator password in the recovery console, and immediately when I dismiss the EULA in windows setup.

Are there any other ways to fix my registry?

First things first.

Make, model, and OS/Service Pack of your PC, and how old is the Windows installation?

 

The computer itself is frankenstein DIY job, running Windows XP SP3 that I last formatted and installed maybe a year ago. Hope that helps.

 

Can you boot into Last Known Good Configuration?

 

No, both safe mode locks up and last known good config gets a blue screen as well, I think the same one
