Hello all. I am hoping I can get some help with a program I downloaded recommended by Blizzard to remove a Trojan horse I some how got over the weekend. The virus supposedly would steel my Warcraft password and then my gold. I downloaded the recomended program called FixWareout. It ran it's thing, rebooted the computer, and then a window popped up saying something along the lines of "If you have trouble getting back onto the internet go into the normal c:/ and double click a registry key it left in C." Of course I had trouble getting on, followed the instructions and it didn't work. I could not get back on to the web. It seems this program not only removed the virus but also removed my ability to get on line. I ran the program again just so I can see the window that popped up when the computer restarted. I wanted to make sure I did it right. I did, I clicked it again and still nothing. So NOW, in my infinite wisdom, I performed a system restore. Went back two weeks and restored my computer. After doing that I STILL havel no way to get on the web only NOW I can no longer find the program and the registry key thingy is no longer on my c:/ drive. I can't even get online to get the program to try to fix it. Can anyone advise? It seems this program not only removed the virus but my ability to get on line. I am online at work.
