flash drive not seen

Win 98 se , 192 mb memory, 60 & 8 gb hd, HP photosmart 7260 printer on 1 usb wants to use both . Memorex flash should be F drive but only comes up sometimes and errors " not ready" need for college please help thanks JEAN

 

Your may need to get drivers for your Flash Drive. Win 98 has very poor USB support.

 

We have a similar problem with my girlfreinds older laptop. When we plug in the flash media it is only recognised a small % of the time. To overcome this we have to plug it in when her comp is off, then switching on the sys and it will be recognised. To remove we have to power the sys down first and then unplug. Pain in the butt but it works every time this way.

Sys is 8 y.o. has a Japanese ME OS.

 

If you go to the website for the maker of the flash drive they should have a Win98 driver there. I use a lexar jump drive and I have to install a driver to get Win98 to see it.
