Flower Power

Great Granddaughters 1st birthday party last week lots of guests, lots of toasting, champagne of course! As usual a 2011 silver coin was produced and pushed it into the cork. And now resides in a cabinet with the good lady wife’s collection of porcelain. I kept One of the champagne bottles tapped a hole in the bottom, then using a rounded rasp smoothed off the rough edges, fitted garden wire to form a loop at the top, filled the bottle with compost, inserted a fuchsia lay the bottle on its side, once the plant turns upward and an inch or so beyond the bottom of the bottle it will hang it in the greenhouse where it will eventually flower.

Congrats to you Tonyhale. Have never heard of the coin and cork thing. Sounds like a fun tradition! :cool
