Folders wont open!

Simple question....i think....

I can go on firefox, msn, and some things on my desktop, but i cant open "my computer" or for that matter, any folder and i cant open any programs by going to ---start---programs---

I have also seen that when i load a website i get like a 10sec pause until it will load

any ideas on what is going on and what i can do to fix it? If not, any computer web forums that i can seek help on?

PS: I have done all the AdAware stuff but no luck

Do they work in safe mode? What OS are we talking about?

Have you run a full system virus scan in safe mode?
