Well i submitted another couple just now, one failed though and seems to have vanished from my folder, think its gone, it merrily plugging away on another WU.

I seem to get 2 done per day, but get really crappy points for them

Okay.

Go to http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

Download the client you like. The graphical client will probably be easiest.

Install it, and conifgure it and put in team : 12072, and put your Username as your MG username (it doesnt matter what you put, but its easier to track if you use your MG username).

And then leave your computer on as much as you can!

EDIT : buh... who did I address that to?? I think I got my pages mixed up!

Oh yes and I've got computers in my form room, gotta get me passwords sorted out and i'll recruit them once a morning

@MA-this is just a suggestion but i think you should offer the downloads for the different folding programs as one of the downloads. not everyone that visits this site goes to the forum, most of the time i hear people just come here to download the programs. I think that if they saw this they might get interested. You know, just in case they didn't see this message.

We are working on protiens, figuring out how they fold-literally. A lot of ailments in newborns are caused because certain protiens didn't gather and fold right. Other stuff like cancer and alzhimers are caused because certain protiens didn't gather and fold right which creates a lack of what ever the protien was suppose to supply. There are millions of protiens that gather and they have to gather exactly right, when they do they fold and the process ie complete and all is well. When they don't fold something that our bodys need isn't supplied. If we (they) can figure out the process by which protiens fold then we can fix them when they don't. That's what we're doing.

LOL I never get mad LUG dogs get MAD LOL,,,Im glad you liked my colorfull speach...LOL...a tinker is a large work unit that on a FAST computer tend to run 2-3 days,,,my P4 2.8nhz system will crunch one in less then 3 days ,,,full speed ahead,,,,gromacs are smaller work units that I could process in about 5-6 hrs,,,,but the gromacs at 6 hrs produce about 20 pionts a work data turned in,,,a TINKER,,because it is more complex,,,and is more time consuming,,,,usually will get about 200 points form...hope that helps,,,and VERY GLAD you chose to hop aboard the TEAM LOL Glenn !!!

Hey everyone. Always been a big fan of your site. I check it daily usually. Saw the "...NEEDS YOU" so I joined up with your project. I've already submitted one result (started yesterday actually) and about to send another one.

PC Specs:
WinXP Pro SP1
Pentium 4 2.0GHz (O/C'd to 2.4GHz)
Sapphire Radeon 9600 256MB Video Card
1GB RAM (Type unknown, but it usually runs at 133MHz)

Again, great site. Love it. Now I hope I'm able to contribute back. Thanks.

I'm set up and have it running here at work... Username on it however is HellSpawnCometh since HellSpawn was already being used...

Will get it set up on my home comps tonight probably... I can run it there on at least 2 comps, and maybe as many as 4 or 5...

I was told earlier that the size does not matter. The speed can vary from time to time. I myself am working on one that is 10000 and its taking about 2 1/2 days.

Haha, thanks glenn, btw i was doing a gromacs core on my 3200+ and it's already 1/4 of the way through in about 45 min worth of time maybe. It's one of those big ones and i thought it woulda took a little longer. 1.2 secs a frame is that any good?

Thats a fast mover in general,,,and the frame rate may vary !!! you may hit a cluster of info where the framerate is 15-25 sec,,,on the same gromac,,lastnight I started a HUGE gromac,,5000 units,,,originaly was to run 5 hrs,,,it took 15 on my p4 2.8,,,100% processor,,,so there is a variable to it wait untill you crunch a TINKER usualy 2-3 days on a fast pc !!!

can't wait to get one of those lol. is it just like the old days when i used to do F@H. i had a good 200 WU done on my old 200mhz. it only took about a year and a half on the old machine haha. that's back when wu's only took a few hours on a fast computer.

2 X P3 333 256 ram &my dads,,just hijacked it LOL...one in our den for emails and wifes stuff
